Accessing weak neutral-current coupling $$g_{AA}^{eq}$$ using positron and electron beams at Jefferson Lab

چکیده

Low-energy neutral-current couplings arising in the Standard Model of electroweak interactions can be constrained lepton scattering off hydrogen or a nuclear fixed target. Recent polarized electron experiments at Jefferson Lab (JLab) have improved precision parity-violating types effective couplings. On other hand, only known way to access parity-conserving counterparts is compare cross sections between and an anti-lepton beam. We review current knowledge both how constrain them. also present exploratory calculations for possible measurement $g_{AA}^{eq}$ using planned SoLID spectrometer combined with positron beam JLab.

Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering with Positron Beams at Jefferson Lab

The challenge of understanding nucleon electromagnetic structure still continues after more than five decades of experimental scrutiny. From the initial measurements of elastic form factors to the accurate determination of parton distributions through deep inelastic scattering, the experiments have increased in statistical and systematic accuracy. Only during the past decade it was realized tha...

An Electron-Ion Collider at Jefferson lab

As explained in the oral presentation [1], the original plans for an electron-ion collider (ELIC) at Jefferson Lab involved the construction of two figure-of-eight rings, intersecting at up to four collision points, with a proton energy of 30-225 GeV (30-100 GeV/A for ions up to Pb) and electrons (and positrons) from 3 to 9 GeV [2]. Since the construction of such a facility must await completio...

Neutron Transversity at Jefferson Lab

Nucleon transversity and single transverse spin asymmetries have been the recent focus of large efforts by both theorists and experimentalists. On-going and planned experiments from HERMES, COMPASS and RHIC are mostly on the proton or the deuteron. Presented here is a planned measurement of the neutron transversity and single target spin asymmetries at Jefferson Lab in Hall A using a transverse...

Hadron attenuation at HERMES and Jefferson Lab

We investigate the attenuation of hadrons in deep inelastic leptonnucleus scattering in the kinematical regime of the HERMES and Jefferson Lab experiments. The calculation is carried out in the framework of a BUU transport model. Our results indicate a strong influence of (pre)hadronic final state interactions on the observed multiplicity ratios.

Review of Alignment Activities at Jefferson Lab

The Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab) comprises a 6 GeV continuous electron beam accelerator (CEBAF) delivering beam to three experimental halls, and a kilowatt range tunable free electron laser (FEL), currently being upgraded to a 10 kW machine. The progression into steady state experimental runs at the facility has allowed the alignment group the opportunity to in...
